Hacienda Fizebad is located 45 minutes from the center of Medellin. It is a traditional Colombian finca, or ranch. There are some 80 horses on the property, a chapel, guest rooms and gorgeous ceremony and reception spots. Jesse and Claudia are from the Bay Area, and had a ceremony in Colombia as well as one back in the States. Because of Jesse’a Mexican heritage, a group of Mariachi’s played during the first half of the night. Just as things were getting heated and the night could not get any better, the craziness set in. In traditional South American weddings they have a tradition of the crazy hour, Hora Loca. This is when the last of the alcohol gets consumed, with the guests having the luxury of hiding behind masks as they end their night in style. Many props come from no where and the Mariachi band is replaced by the traditional Papayera band. This was probably one of the funnest wedding finales I’ve experienced.
